A Message From Brian & The Story So Far...

"Hello Friends,

I would like to tell you a story...

When I was in elementary school, I recall a show and tell event in our classroom where an older gentleman was showing off his home-made "guitar". This guitar wasn't much of a guitar at all. It was a shoe box with a hole, taped up layers of cardboard served as the neck, and rubber bands served as the guitar "strings". His demonstration was intended to encourage the children around him to be creative and that anything they set they're mind too is possible. â€‹

My take-away was, what a pathetic excuse for a musical instrument. I want to one day make my own guitar. A real guitar. Not one made with cardboard and discarded household supplies. Nor did I want to buy a kit and build a guitar from a kit. I wanted to make a guitar from scratch. Being 7 years old at the time, I had no idea where to begin with such a task.  So I scrolled that desire and passion away until many years later when I was inspired to get into woodworking by a close personal friend.

My name is Brian Morrison, and I have been woodworking and building guitars since 2009.  Since that time, I slowly built up my skills and experience building and designing guitars. In 2020, I started Morrison Custom's.

Along the way I was helped and inspired by great and amazing people around me to reach for my dreams. First and foremost I would like to thank my parents, Tim and Lisa Morrison, for giving me the space to be creative in my formative years. I especially would like to thank my Dad for allowing me to use his woodworking equipment in his basement workshop to start on my luthier's journey even though allowing me to use his woodworking equipment led to greater wear and tear on his machinery. I also had a tendency to turn 'logs into toothpicks,' as he would say. Not an entirely unfounded observation.

I would also like to personally thank William Michelsen & Ryan Seiffert for investing in me and buying some of my first guitars.

A special mention should be given to Ryan Thompson who helped me grow my luthier skills. Mr. Thompson owns and operates a music store in Belmar, NJ. His custom bass guitar work is exceptional and I highly recommend anyone who is interested to view his work on his website, www.ryanthompsonbass.com.

I am immensely grateful for everything you all have done for me.

In the coming months and few short years I am looking to expand my business and grow my clientele. If you are someone who is interested in a high quality woodworking project or a custom electric guitar, please consider choosing Morrison Custom's.

It will be my goal, Brian Morrison, and the goal of Morrison Custom's to provide our clientele with quality hand-made wood products. Focusing on custom electric guitars, I want to provide the consumer with a one-of-a-kind instrument and work of art. If I am fortunate to serve you as the client, it will be my goal to best equip you with the knowledge you need to make an informed decision on any purchases concerning electric guitars.

Thank you for your time and consideration and I'll see you out on the shop floor.

Cheers folks,

Brian Morrison"
